About this site

The primary function of this site is to provide graphing and statistical information about item prices on World of Warcraft© Auction Houses. On each item, on a per server & faction basis, there is information available with trending data, averages, distribution etc. Some example graphs from the page look like this ( a live example):

All the data is sourced directly from the Blizzard Armoury API, Bliz publishes the data in hour snap-shots.

Once you register as a user, you can also build a profile to make using the site more useful. Items can be pinned to your home page so that you can easily check the items you are interested in at a glance.

You can setup notifications to be sent via email every time an item is seen in an API dump and meets certain thresholds (Price and Quantity) so even when you are not playing you can keep abreast of the things you want to buy or sell!

Things currently in development

  • User Uploads - NOW CLOSED, thanks to all those people who helped launch the site!
  • Graphs and Statistics - This is under constant improvement, recently added distribution data
  • Site Efficiency holding millions of auction records and still being able to get the data out without waiting hours would be nice, since inception it has improved a lot but still some way to go. The HTML5 java script that actually draws the graphs leaves a lot to be desired, this is going to be improved!
  • Profession Information A professions page now exists for logged in users, not all the relationships and static data exists yet but it is getting there.

Disclaimer

Firstly I am not a lawyer so this is not going to be written in legal jargon and is probably not legally binding but to make you aware:

  • Email Addresses these will always be kept private and never knowingly be exposed on the site or to any third party for any reason. Mostly they are used for password recovery and in future other site features.
  • Site Reliability the server that runs this site is a VPS and so the hardware is not managed by me, any outages are generally beyond my control.
  • Liability This site is provided as is, I don't take any responsiblity for what you do with the info not do I say the data is fit for any purpose at all, its just numbers on a screen for legal purposes. If you lose all you in game gold due to bad trading please don't blame me. Remember the value of your investment can go down as well as up! ;)
  • It's a game I know people take WoW very seriously, but when it comes down to it, World Of Warcraft is game, the idea is to have fun. Please send me any constructive feedback you have but please don't shout or flame me if you find a bug. (Do report bugs though please, I want this site to be as good as possible!

Software

The PHP code running this site has been written by me. This includes a custom PHP/HTML5 pair of classes for drawing the graphs based on data supplied from the mysql database. The classes are called ph5d_canvas and ph5d_graph, the code is not well documented and just about does what I want atm. I am planning on optimising it significantly (you can see the Java source code for the graphs needs a tidy up) and I will release it, if you would like a pre-view copy please email me.

Site Support

Although I am aiming to support this site with the google adds on every page this doesn't bring in a lot of revenue, the short fall of the revenue I cover myself personally, if you would like to help finacially support this site (and earn my gratitude) please feel free to send me money any time you want ;)
